Christina Gibson is thrilled to be teaching a second year as a Kindergarten Lead Teacher at KIPP Philadelphia Elementary and strongly believes that every child deserves the opportunity to attain an excellent education. Christina grew up in Chicago, IL and attended Hope College in Holland, MI where she attained a double major in Elementary Education and Music Performance in Trumpet and minor in Piano. Christina taught 3rd grade in Michigan before joining Teach for America and teaching 2nd and 3rd grade in Waipahu, Hawaii. In addition to teaching, she served as a Professional Learning Coordinator for TFA, instructing, guiding, and mentoring first-year teachers. Christina then spent a year teaching English as a second language in Seoul, Korea. She focused on developing bilingual students in all academic subjects, teaching Kindergarten ESL as well as evening classes for grades 1-7. Currently, Christina lives in Philadelphia with her newly-wed husband, Ryan, and their dog, Bella.
